Client Testimonial from the Guinn family's homebirth:
"I am in my early forties and was in the process of "getting my ducks in a row" for the home birth of our son (our first baby). I was referred to Rebecca by my midwife team because I was looking for a Doula with a very grounded presence. Upon meeting Rebecca, I knew that her energy was exactly what I was looking for. She was grounded, knowledgeable, and savvy in offering supportive input long before the birth of my son even ccurred. As an example, she suggested that our pre-natal visits occur at the site of a local birth circle, so that I would have the opportunity to make use of this wonderful resource for expectant mothers.
My husband and sister did not understand the Doula role that Rebecca would play until she actually arrived to provide support on the day our son was born. By the time she arrived I was well into Labor and my sister and husband were on he verge of panicking, as neither had witnessed a natural birth (or any birth for that matter). Thet had no way of gauging whether my pain level was "normal" or how to help me through each contraction. Rebecca immediatly began directing them both in how to make me most comfortable and relieved my husband of having to keep my midwives updated on my progress. What I am most grateful to Rebecca for (in addition to the comfort measures that she was constantly offering) is that she held a space for me that allowed me to believe that I could get through what turned out to be a somewhat difficult natural birth. My son was born with a "nuchal hand" which means his hand was up by his face. This made for a difficult and painful transition and pushing stage. But Rebecca and my midwives never waivered in their support that I not only could safely birth my son, but that I would. And I did, in 8 hours!
I will be forever grateful to Rebecaa for holding a space that empowered me to Birth our son naturally."
Client Testimonial from the Chapman family's homebirth:
"My husband and I are so grateful that Rebecca was at the birth of our daughter. Rebecca managed to help both of us. She listened as my husband vented some difficult emotions he was experiencing during the labor. She kept busy during slow moments by folding laundry for us. She was a quiet but powerful presence for me throughout the labor: unintrusive, intuitive, gentle, kind, calm. She knew exactly what I needed and when to give me space. She embodied serenity and contributed so much to everything being beautiful for our baby's birth."
Client Testimonial from the Ince family:
"Right from the very beginning, Rebecca was there for us. When birth anxiety started to take its toll on me along with a prolonged prodromal labor, she pulled all her resources together to help me maintain a calm, peaceful state of mind. I was able to have a beautiful, very fast (and completely natural unmedicated) hospital birth because she helped me trust my body and believe in myself. I couldn't ask for a better doula!"
Client Testimonial from the Motyka family:
"Rebecca is an angel, flat out. I can't say it enough. Not only the support for me, but she gave my husband the strength to support me and be by my side the whole time. It was a journey and this woman was with me at my home and in the hospital. She held my hand through days of labor. Every decision I made, she was right there with nothing but support. I felt safe just to have her by my side. Bringing my son into the world was the hardest thing I've ever done and Rebecca will forever be part of our family for what she has done. Every mom deserves a Rebecca. Thank you for all you did for us and continue to do. Getting a doula was one of the best decisions I could have made for me and my family and I believe my little guy would have arrived by c-section or a much harder birth if it wasn't for her. More birth pictures to come when I upload them. We love you Rebecca love Kayla Damian and Dj"
