Meet Rebecca Karpinski
I have always felt a calling to help others. My journey began 9 years ago when I began my career as a special education teacher.
In 2008, I discovered I was pregnant with my first daughter. My passion surrounding pregnancy and childbirth developed during this pregnancy. I became enveloped in the wonderful birth community in Arizona, where I was living at the time. I began learning everything that I could regarding pregnancy, birth options, cloth diapers, breastfeeding, babywearing, and attachment parenting. Although I feel I have learned a tremendous amount, each day I continue to learn something new.
After the birth of my second daughter, I was drawn to my calling to become a birth Doula. I feel fortunate to have been surrounded by strong, powerful women in the community who are committed to best practices in birth. After having two empowering home waterbirths of my own, I am compelled to help other women have the birth that they deserve.
I attended a DONA Birth Doula training and am continuing to learn and experience everything related to pregnancy, birth, and, the postpartum period! While home water births were the right choice for my family, I support each family throughout their journey to make the best choice for their family.
I also have vast knowledge of the nursing infant and toddler. I have assisted many mothers in overcoming nursing challenges, ranging from correct latch and supply issues to pumping and the working mom. I have successfully nursed both of my daughters for a combined total of 65 months!
My husband and I have two fun loving girls. Apart from all things birth and baby, I enjoy spending time with my family, spending time outdoors, crocheting, cooking, and traveling.
